More Information About Wakefield Bridge Club

Wakefield Bridge Club was founded in November 1955 and has 75 members.

We play bridge at West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club on Monday and Thursday evenings. Play starts at 19.15, and usually finishes by 23.00. On most evening results are available immediately after playing.

Disability is no handicap to playing - access to playing room is via stairs (with stair lift), and table movements can accommodate the less mobile. Smoking is not permitted, but players can buy drinks in the adjoining bar.

Members are affiliated to the English Bridge Union and to the Yorkshire Bridge Association (fees included in Membership Subscriptions).

The club currently has 4 teams entered into the Yorkshire Contract Bridge League and also has members representing Yorkshire at county level.

All members are able to represent the club, as well as entering the local averages competion and other cups and events run throughout the season. Take a look at the rankings section to see details and standings of all competions related to Wakefield Bridge Club.

The club has many events throughout the season, including weekend competitions and a Christmas party. See the calendar section for a full list of events held by the club.

We don’t have a formal ‘hosting’ service, so individual players should make contact first, but pairs are welcome to join us unannounced.

Our aim at Wakefield Bridge Club has always been to play good bridge in an enjoyable atmosphere. We have a reputation for being a friendly club. We hope you enjoy your evening with us.
